NEWSLETTER FOR EVENT AND
LEISURE BUSINESSES
Issue Number.115

EVERYTHING FOR EVENT AND LEISURE RELATED BUSINESSES
IN ONE PLACE |
|
|
This years event season has got of to a really wet start, the prolonged wet weather has effected many events over the past month
with many event related businesses really feeling the financial impact of cancellations and reduced crowd
sizes. However we're a resilient bunch, use to a bit of rain, mud and going home out of pocket, so lets hope we see an improvement. |
Giving you and your new business a distinctive look You and your staff will be in the publics
close view constantly and with ever increasing standards people decide whether
to purchase your products or buy your services based upon the professionalism
and appearance of you and your business. Long gone are the days of throwing on an old
apron over grubby jeans and a white t-shirt. Distinctive colour co-ordinated
workwear
with headwear, blouses, shirts, trousers, waistcoats and aprons are now the norm.

Business Planning |
Workwear themed around your business Working out a workwear theme that
is practicable, easy to clean, hygienic and safe to wear in your work
environment can be quite a challenging task. Remember you are the one wearing it day in day out
in all weather so it has to be comfortable for you and your staff. Questions to
ask may include: |
Does your workwear need to... 1. Include your business logo or emblem? 2. Match your catering unit
or amusement colour scheme? 3. Have a modern, traditional or themed look?
Look at the practicable aspects and ask... 1. Will it be worn in a
hot working or cooking environment?
2. Will footwear be used on slippery, greasy or wet floors? 3. Will waterproof
clothing be needed for outdoor use? 4. Can it be machine washed or need
specialised cleaning?

Round Up |
I think one of the best themed workwear outfits I've seen was on
a mobile catering unit selling Mexican foods some years back, it was a small trailer with three
people in it all wearing really huge sombrero hats. The
problem was they spent more time trying to keep them on their heads as they kept
knocking each others hats off as they moved. Funny to watch from
outside.
