START UP A MOBILE CATERING BUSINESS
STEP4. MARKETING - ADVERTISING
Business cards, you'll be surprised how many
times you're asked for your business card at events by other event organisers
trying to source mobile caterers for their own events. Although this practice is
slowly dying out as many event organisers are sourcing mobile event caterers via
websites such as
countyfetes, it doesn't hurt to have a few business cards at the ready
should anyone ask for one. Your contact details never look very good written on
the back of a napkin. If you can, try and get them laminated to keep them fresh
looking and grease free and include a photo of your catering trailer or stall,
don't forget to include your e-mail address and website address if you have one.
Workwear and
clothing can also be branded with your business logo, business name and
telephone numbers, you could even put your website address on the back of polo
shirts and on the front of baseball caps, providing the address is not too long.
Whatever you do, try and keep it professional looking, easy to read and not over
the top with too much artwork and loud colour schemes.
Give your customers something to read while
they are queuing. Provide a well placed, covered notice board with more
information about your catering services and how to contact you, if you have an
"A" board
with your menu on don't forget to include your business name and telephone
number.
